Do you feel like you’ve spent your entire career following a definition of success you bought into when you were 18?

Do you feel overwhelmed when you try to figure out what you actually want to be doing?

Are you stuck? Frustrated? Restless? Stagnant? Bored? Over it?

But what’s next? You know it’s not this. but if not this, then what?!

Struggling to know where to begin and how exactly to navigate making a successful career change in today’s world because you aren’t even really sure what you’re looking for?

“Sometimes our problems can feel so overwhelming that we don’t even try to solve them. We just live with them—like an irritating roommate we constantly complain about but never get around to evicting. Our problems become our story, and we can all get stuck in our stories.”

- Bill Burnett & Dave Evans, Designing Your Life

You know you need a strategy. One that leads to getting offers for jobs that truly excite you.

But you’re spending all of your time on job boards applying to postings below your experience [and salary!] level that you... a. wouldn’t really want to do in the first place and b. never actually hear anything back from.

Ugh.

That’s where I come in!

I’m erin

I help high-performers discover their strengths, figure out what’s next in their careers, and authentically stand out in their job search so that they can take back control of their careers and their confidence.

I’m a verified old soul who lives by, “If you’re going to do something, do it right.”

There are no shortcuts.

No quick fixes.

I wholeheartedly believe the best things in life take time.

Including some of my favorite things like: fully stepping into who you are, finding work that lights you up, owning your career path, baking delicious loaves of sourdough bread (pre-2020!), aging a yummy red wine, and growing a garden full of organic veggies that’ll knock your socks off.

But gosh do I get how you’re feeling right now!

You’d give anything to not feel this way when you wake up tomorrow morning.

Not that long ago I was in your shoes.

Dreading my day-to-day wondering how and when I got so lost.

Before I BECAME a Career change Coach helping high-performing professionals regain a sense of career direction, I was an overachieving perfectionist struggling in my own career.

Hard.

For nearly a decade…

I hid behind a veil of outward success in the wrong jobs, in the wrong industry thinking, “If I just work harder, it’ll get easier.”

Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

It was insanely exhausting having to hustle so hard and pretend every day when I saw others around me thriving with ease.

I absolutely had the skills (hello, that’s the high-performer’s curse: we can do/learn pretty much anything), but it just didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel like me at work.

I felt trapped. The work I was doing was what I had studied and trained for (2 degrees, 4 jobs, 2 cross-country moves). I felt embarrassed. I didn’t even know what I was good at or what else I could - and should! - be doing.

And I felt a deep soul-crushing unfulfillment that came along with putting my head down and giving everything to a dream that I no longer wanted.

I wish I had known then what I know now.

That I wasn’t alone.

And neither are you.

There are so many high-performers out there not feeling satisfied. Who are struggling to figure out what’s off. But we don’t talk about it.

It’s tough to talk about it when you have the “dream career” and still aren’t happy. I would spin in thoughts, ideas, fears, doubts and not really get anywhere. Well, not anywhere.

I did end up in the ER with a stomach ulcer from all of the stress of a career misfit and not seeing a way out of it.

After way too many false starts - because my analytical brain had me overthinking and underacting - I’m proud, and humbled to say that I’ve figured out exactly what I do best, enjoy the most, and how I want to help others.

And I’ve built my career and life around that purpose.

But it took me too damn long. I didn’t have to do it alone. And neither do you.
